Pueblo Benalmadena, Andalucia Spain

High on the mountains lies this enchanting all white historic old centro. Impossible to walk there as the roads have little pedestrian space but taxi, bus or car will get you there. My first visit was at night for the Christmas lights. The main squares are Andalucia and Espana. Its tiny alleys and squares are delicately adorned for Christmas charm. There are many all white pueblos (towns) dotted on the mountains, east and west of Malaga and the reason they’re white is the calcified paint which is reflected the sun’s heat in summer  this, will tiled floors and beautiful old massive shade providing trees, offer some escape from the heat when it’s 40 degrees plus.

Pueblo Benalmadena’s  pretty tiled walkways and orange trees is really special! Waterfalls, blue pots on walls and blue tiling art of Spanish culture, I will definitely visit again for a lunch at one of the bodega’s.  It has a few resorts for those who want to see the sea but not necessarily be close by to walk the beach. The Pueblo is 7km from Arroyo de la Miel, up steep mountain roads and the first sign and monument is the old Bull Arena.
