Travel tips: Bamburg, Romantic road, Germany
Bamberg, in northern Bavaria is, laid out over 7 hills where the Regnitz and Main rivers meet. Its old town is lovely higgeldy-piggeldy and preserves structures from the 11th to 19th centuries. It’s a walk up and down and around through little winding streets and over the two little rivers.
The muraled Altes Rathaus (town hall), which occupies an island in the Regnitz reached by arched bridges. Amazing how the yellow building square bottom is perched on a piece of triangular stone!

Walking into the courtyard towards the museum
This pretty decorated building runs about 200 metres in width in the form of an unfinished rectangle
Facing the city with back to museum and courtyard runs a city wall. It is about 200m in length with statues the whole way along and gives views from above over the city roofs.
Close to the church and city wall another inner courtyard, transformed into a rose garden.
