Travel tips: Altea hills and Albir, Costa Blanca Spain

If one travels north of Benidorm along the coast there are lovely coastal town all the way to Dennis. Further north moves into Valencia. Before Altea and it’s hills which bring you to Calpe, there is a bother sweet little area L’Alfas del Pi which has the town Albir. The ride there is amazing, more countryside mountainous views than coast and I went several times. This journey included some lovely dramatic skies which later that evening Brough on heavy rain. Quite an event for Spain. Like all small towns it’s beach is the place to be and there are lovely views of Calpe from there as well as the coast runs in a kind of U form.

The weather rolled the sea into beautiful turquoise
The anchor monument as you arrive on the beach from the main shopping streets

There in the distance is Calpe and the alt a beautiful ominous colour. The promenade has some lovely places for lunch etc.
Driving back, fortunately a few hours before the hard rain hit.
Not often one sees a palm tree against such a dark contrast. It made for a pretty photo!
