Travel tips: Alkmaar, NL

Forty-five minutes by train or car north of Amsterdam is Alkmaar. Another small little city with churches, bridges, canals and unique always, in every place in the Netherlands, characteristic Dutch housing, all jammed together with the customary hook on the facade at the top which is used for moving.
