Travel tips: Leiden, NL

Thirty minutes by train from Amsterdam is Leiden, a university city and neat version of Amsterdam. It's worth a full day trip as there is a historical walk around the city and much to see. Not as many canals as Amsterdam but still extremely pretty. What is unique is that there are poems on walls from different authors and in different languages so see how many you manage to spot. Also walk to the top of the hill to have a good view of the cathedral and enjoy the characteristic small roads, busy with cyclists and lovely restaurants. Lovely architecture, canals and shopping this small city has everything a tourist needs.
